The Granada-based GENyO centre is calling for a Junior Group Leader and a Senior Group Leader, with the aim of establishing independent research groups in genomics and human health.
The Genomics and Oncology Research Centre (GENyO), a benchmark institution in biomedical research in Spain, is launching a new international call for the incorporation of two new group leaders. This initiative seeks to reinforce its cutting-edge mission in the study of the functioning of the genome and human disease.
Selected candidates will have the opportunity to establish independent research groups at GENyO’s facilities. The lines of research may focus either on human health issues, using omics techniques combined with advanced machine learning and bioinformatics, or on the development of advanced therapies for the treatment of cancer or inflammatory diseases.
This call is aligned with national and international talent attraction programmes such as ERC, ATRAE, Beatriz Galindo or Ramón y Cajal grants, as well as with the Tenure Track employment stabilisation pathway offered by the University of Granada. In addition, projects with a clinical profile may benefit from the support of programmes such as Nicolás Monardes C2, in close collaboration with Andalusian hospitals. Additional support may be available through translational and clinical research programmes such as the Nicolás Monardes C2 call of the Junta de Andalucía, also for salary support and in close connection with the Clinical Management Clinics of the Andalusian Hospitals (Unidad de Gestión Clínica).
To apply for this offer it is necessary to send by email all the required documentation to Dr. Marta E. Alarcón Riquelme, Scientific Director of GENyO (marta.alarcon@genyo.es).
