La red GenE-HumDi pretende llevar la investigación del laboratorio a los pacientes y respaldar a los jóvenes científicos

Around eighty experts are gathering on 26, 27 and 28 May at the Pfizer-University of Granada-Regional Government of Andalusia Centre for Genomics and Cancer Research (Genyo) to review four years of work by the GenE -HumDi network, which brings together some 500 researchers, clinicians, representatives from regulatory agencies and students from 47 countries to discuss gene therapies.

The network’s principal investigator and organiser of the meeting, Karim Benabdel, from the Progreso y Salud Foundation, explained to this publication that the aim of this network, funded by the European Union but also extending to countries in the Americas, Asia, Africa and Oceania, is to promote the development of gene therapies and their practical application in the treatment of various diseases, including cancer, as well as to facilitate high-impact publications on this field of progress. Furthermore, the network aims to support young researchers so that they can learn these techniques and continue to develop them in the future, through scholarships and research grants.
